Federico Armando Beltrán Masses (1885–1949) was a Spanish painter. He was born in Cuba because his father, a military officer, was stationed there at the time. He studied with the painter Sorolla at the School of Fine Arts in Barcelona and in 1905 studied Spanish and European art at the Prado Museum in Madrid. In 1916, he received recognition from the Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts in Paris, where he continued to live for the next few years. Beltrán-Masses won awards in the United States, Belgium, Italy, and India, and he participated in the Franco-Spanish Fine Arts Exhibition in 1919. In 1920, he exhibited a nude entitled Salome at the Venice Biennale. This painting is now on display at the Casa Lis Museum of Art Deco and Art Nouveau in Salamanca. In 1938, he served on the jury for the Miss France pageant. Beltrán-Masses was awarded the Order of Isabella the Catholic in 1949. ( Wikipedia )
